Michael Lucey Obituary

Victor/King Ferry: Michael W. Lucey, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 86.
Mike was predeceased by his parents Michael and Agnes (McPadden) Lucey, his sisters; Mary (Charles) Wade and Genevieve (Walter) Barry. He is survived by his daughters; Mary (Kelly) Lincoln and Barbra (Richard) Murante, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, a nephew Gerald (Betty) Barry as well as many friends, former students, and colleagues whose lives he touched over the decades.
Born on June 6, 1939, Mike grew up with a deep sense of curiosity, mischief, and a quiet strength that would come to define his life. He was a proud graduate of SUNY Geneseo, and Nazareth University where he cultivated a lifelong passion for learning. That passion led him to the classroom, where he inspired generations of students as a dedicated teacher at Eastridge High School.
In 1986, Mike chose to follow a long-held calling and embarked on a second career as a funeral director. With deep empathy and an abiding commitment to supporting families in their times of loss, he founded the Lucey-VanVoorhis Funeral Home. There, he created a space grounded in compassion, dignity, and community. His work helped countless families navigate some of life's most difficult moments with grace and comfort.
Mike enjoyed his retirement years at his home on Cayuga Lake, enjoying the sunsets, watching Red Sox games, and making many more friends along the way. He will be deeply missed.
Friends and family may call from 5-7pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the Miller Funeral and Cremation Services of Victor, 301 Main Street, Victor, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at St. Patrick's Church, 115 Maple St., Victor, NY.
