Michael A. "Mike" Clifton, of Eureka, Missouri, passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 70.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda; his son Chris Ward and daughter-in-law Cassie; and his cherished grandsons, Layne and Bryson Ward. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Carol Clifton, Patty (Billy) Garrison, Dotty (David) Baumann, Cindy Breese, and Annie Switzer; his brother-in-law Jim (Teresa) Switzer; his beloved niece Trish Bruder; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Melva (née Seifried) Clifton; his brother Carl Clifton; his sister and brother-in-law Carol and Ronald Judy; his in-laws, Pat and Martha Switzer; his brother-in-law Larry Switzer; his nephew Jeff Clifton and niece Linda Clifton.

Born and raised in St. Louis City, Mike spent most of his life in the area he loved. He worked for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) for nearly 35 years, dedicating his career to serving the community with pride and a strong work ethic.

To know Mike was to know a true friend. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to help someone in need. His circle of friends was vast built on genuine kindness, humor, and loyalty. He was often found outside, listening to Cardinals games, chatting with neighbors, and enjoying a cold beer.

Mike was a proud and involved father, cheering on Chris at countless games and continuing that tradition with his grandsons, attending their sports and adventures with joy and pride.

Although he was not a veteran himself, Mike had deep respect for those who served and was honored to be a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, supporting veterans and their families.

Per his wishes, Mike will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dirks Fund, Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
