Born on August 6, 1969, In Tulia, Texas to Lee Ann Tidwell Holt and Glen Dale Tiffin Jr. Mike cherished his family and friends. He spent much of his childhood riding bikes, playing basketball, and hanging out with friends. He liked going to the local bowling alley, where he would bowl with friends, but he also learned to play pool. He became very talented at the game of pool, and would go on to play and win many tournaments in his life. He had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went. Mike embarked on his career as a professional jockey at the young age of 16, starting his journey in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, alongside his father. By 18, he had earned his license at Trinity Meadows Raceway in Weatherford, Texas. On his first day riding at Trinity, he impressively won four races. Trainers sought out Mike because he was one of the few riders who could expertly handle the most challenging broncs on the track. After leaving the track, Mike would go on to become a professional truck driver until his injuries forced him into retirement. Michael had a profound love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Dale Tiffin Jr., his paternal grandparents, Glen Dale and Laverne Tiffin, his maternal grandparents, Carl "Pee Wee" Tidwell, and his beloved stepfather, Terry Holt.
Michael is survived by his two sons, Trent Tiffin and Kevin Tiffin, his daughter-in-law, Tammy Tiffin, two beautiful granddaughters, Katie and Sierra Tiffin, his mother, Lee Ann Tidwell Holt, his sister, Kim Tiffin Allaire (affectionately known as Kimbo) and her husband Mike, and their children, Chelsea, Tessa, Austin, and Logan, his brother, Chris Holt and wife Genieva, and their children, Cameron and Laney, Aunt Sue Tiffin, a cousin, Krissy Court and husband Tony, and their children, TJ and Haley, his ex-wife and mother of his children Phyllis Tiffin-White and her husband Virgil, Aunt Karen Farmer and her husband Joe, as well as his cousin, Garrett Clayton and partner Sara, and their three children, Cousin David Clayton, and Jennifer Montgomery. Michael is survived by many other cousins whom he loved dearly, Krissy, Garrett and David were like siblings to Michael growing up on Me Maw and Grandad's farm. Aunt Sue was like a second mother to him.
Close family members will be staying at the Lumberyard Lodge in Turkey. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and continue the tradition of love and connection that defined his life.
Michael Coy Tiffin will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
