Michael Ulibarri, aged 65, passed away on July 1, 2025, at his home in Buena Vista, New Mexico. Born March 14, 1960, he is survived by his wife Donna Ulibarri, son Christopher Ulibarri, and siblings Paulita Deaguero, Betty Shaw, Larry Ulibarri, Laura Ulibarri, Gloria Ulibarri, and Arnold Ulibarri.
He was born the youngest of 12 kids to José and Magdalena Ulibarri in Española, New Mexico. The Ulibarri clan later moved to Anton Chico where he graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1979, and soon married the love of his life, Donna Ulibarri nee Montoya. He enlisted in the Navy where he served as a Diesel Engine Mechanic, traveling the world over and biking in places such as the Spanish Pyrenees, Monaco, and Greece. Passionate about his family, he was honorably discharged in 1998 and soon moved with Donna to take care of his in-laws, Marcella and Eloy Montoya. In 2000 they welcomed their only child, Chris Ulibarri. In 2002 Mike and Donna opened Ulibarri Farms Candy Co., a boutique candy company that soon found themselves selling at Costco, with candy being shipped all the way to Israel and Vietnam, and a storefront being opened in 2016. His friends and family will always remember him for his ever-giving attitude, shining smile, and twinkling ocean-blue eyes. He had love in his heart for everyone, playing Santa at the Mora Winterfest 5 years in a row.
He will be greatly missed by all.
His services will be held on July 9, 2025, at Rogers Mortuary at 2:00pm, where we will begin with the Rosary and then have a Celebration of Life. All are welcome, we ask that folks bring stories about him to tell those that have gathered in love of this wonderful man.
Arrangements are entrusted to and under the care of Rogers Mortuary, 600 Reynolds Ave, Las Vegas, NM 87701, 505-455-3511 or 1-800-479-3511.
