CARRILLO
Miguel "Maya" Carrillo Sr., age 56, passed away peacefully on Monday June 9, 2025, embarking on his heavenly journey and leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.
Miguel was born on July 6, 1968, in Alice, Texas, to Ramona V. Martinez and Martin Carrillo Sr. From a young age, Miguel demonstrated a strong work ethic, beginning his career in the oil industry at just 17 years old. He took great pride in his work, especially in the years he spent working alongside one of his sons. Miguel was always eager to share his knowledge and experience, becoming a mentor to numerous family members and friends.
Beyond his work, Miguel had a deep passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and arrowhead hunting-activities that brought him peace and connection with nature. Weekends were especially meaningful to Miguel, as he cheered on his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros with enthusiasm and great tasting barbeque.
Miguel will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generous spirit, dedication to his family, and the countless memories he helped create. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was proceded in death by his parents, Martin and Ramona Carrillo; his brothers, Arturo "Tudy" Martinez, Juan Martinez, Blondie (Laya) Carrillo, Martin Carrillo, Jose Carrillo, Mateo Carrillo; sisters, Herminia Tarango, Virginia Flores.
Miguel is survived by his two daughters, Ynesia (Ray) Sanchez, Myra (Colton) Lee; his two sons, Miguel Carrillo jr. and Saul Carrillo; mother of his children, Elaine Solis; his siblings, Lucio (Candy) Martinez, Esparanza (Luis) Gonzalez, Martina Carrillo and Martin (Dalia) Martinez; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
