Mildred Lockheart Carpenter Buckler, a cherished wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, at her home in
Paris, Kentucky. Born in Sharpsburg, KY on February 27, 1956, to her loving parents, Albert Gentry Carpenter and Fannie Kather Combs Carpenter, both of whom predeceased her, Mildred lived a vibrant life filled with joy and kindness, touching all those she encountered.
Mildred's journey of life was one of enduring love and commitment, exemplified by her devoted marriage to her soulmate, Walter B. Buckler Jr. Together, they fostered a family full of love and laughter. In her lineage, Mildred was also the proud sibling of six brothers and three sisters who shared countless precious memories and an unbreakable bond. She will be greatly missed not only by her partner but also her treasured children: Kimberly Stamper, James W. Carson (with his wife, Jennifer), and Woody D. Carson (joined in love by April Burchett).
A life so fully lived leaves its mark not only on family but also on friends, including Mildred's special aunt and uncle, Bennie and Donna Buckler, who were as dear to her as her own siblings. In addition, Mildred often found joy in play with her beloved fur baby, Sandy, whose loyal companionship was a constant source of comfort and smiles.
In her community, Mildred was known for her pastimes, which reflected her enigmatic spirit and love for life's simple pleasures. An enthusiastic catfisher, she spent many hours at the riverbank, where she found tranquility and happiness in the tug of a line. Meanwhile, her intellectual curiosity and patience shone through in her affinity for jigsaw puzzles. Each completed puzzle was a testament to her focus and determination.
We will remember Mildred for her warmth, her perpetual optimism, and her ability to see beauty in the minutiae of everyday life. Her legacy continues through her sister-in-law Stephanie (Salvador) Salas, brother-in-law Cecil Wayne Buckler, and brother-in-law, the late Jeffery Clay Buckler. The absence of Mildred's guiding light will be deeply felt at family gatherings and in those quiet moments of reflection where her sage advice once resounded.
As Mildred joins her parents, in-laws Walter Sr and Mary Buckler, and brother-in-law Jeffery Clay Buckler in eternal rest, her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she loved. Her spirit, ever enduring, will live on through the stories told, the memories cherished, and the love she planted in each of our hearts. May we take solace in knowing that her journey, though here has ended, continues in a realm of peace and everlasting joy.
