Mildred Ewoldt, age 89, of Alta, Iowa died August 11, 2025 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Funeral services will take place Friday, August 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Mildred Carol Wigen was born August 7, 1936 to Louis and Marlys (Hanson) Wigen in Ayrshire, Iowa. She attended school in Ayrshire, graduating in 1954. On December 18, 1960, Mildred was united in marriage to Robert Ewoldt in Ruthven, Iowa. They were blessed with two children: Bob and Deb. Faith was the center of Mildred's life. She was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years and served on numerous funeral committees. Mildred worked at the Buena Vista Clinic – Trimark for 42 years. She was also a member of the Medical Technology Association for 60 years. In her free time, Mildred loved going golfing and bowling. You could find her playing Bingo and taking trips to the casino. More than anything, Mildred treasured time with her family. She was active with all her children and grandchildren's sporting activities, including keeping record of swim team. Mildred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish Mildred's memory include her beloved husband, Robert Ewoldt of Alta, Iowa; children: Bob (Cindy) Ewoldt of Apache Junction, Arizona; Deb Maack of Alta, Iowa; brother: Leo Wigen; grandchildren: Shanna and Brienna Ewoldt, and Kolbie (Bud) Mattson; Cassidy (friend Lucas) Boom; great-grandchildren: Jaylee and Jaxson Martinez; step-children: Ben Wilhelms; Brian Wilhelms; step-grandchildren: Caitlyn and Dusty Mattson; siblings-in-law: LeRoy Walker; Joan Johnson; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Welcoming her into heaven include her parents; siblings: Bev (Emory) Harris; Peggy Wigen; Bonnie (Jr.) Bowman; Marlene Walker; Louis (Elaine) Wigen Jr.; infant brother: Neil Wigen; parents-in-law: Rudolph and Norma Ewoldt; siblings-in-law: Wendell (Marlys) Ewoldt; Morris Johnson; Shirley (Ray) Anderson; and Carol Wigen.
