Through the years, Rev. Curtis served in many capacities with the denomination including serving on the Church of God State Council in the state of Michigan, were he presided as the chairman of the State Council for several terms.
Rev. Curtis enjoyed music and listening to the Gaithers and learning and listening to Buddy Greene inspiring him at the age of 90 to learn to play the harmonica. Through the years, he enjoyed singing with his family especially during Sunday services and other times.
He enjoyed his sports including the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, Carolina Tarheels and Atlanta Braves, and when he was able, he welcomed any opportunity to play golf or fishing for Bass.
His love and dedication to Christ was first and foremost in his life. Very close behind this was his love and devotion for his family. His children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his great great grandson, Riley were so very important to him!
