Millie (nee Shackleford) Palazzola of Affton, Missouri, was born July 14, 1940 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Walter and Mary (nee Reeves) Shackleford and entered into rest Saturday, July 12, 2025 in Affton, Missouri at the age of 84 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary (nee Reeves) Shackleford; husband, Joseph F. Palazzola; brother, Charles Shackleford.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Renda, Ron (Cathy) Renda, and Peter J. Renda; grandchildren, Katelyn Renda and Samantha (Nicholas) Marsh; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Lillie Amberson; along with numerous other extended family and friends.
Millie was a true lover of life whose warmth and joy touched everyone around her. She found beauty in the smallest things, especially butterflies, which brought her a quiet sense of wonder. A creative soul, Millie enjoyed crafts like needlepoint, pouring love and care into every stitch. Her favorite time of year was Christmas-a season she embraced with excitement and heartfelt generosity. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road., St. Louis, Missouri 63125.
