Misty Sides ObituaryOn June 28th, 2025, Misty Sides of
Childress, Texas passed away surrounded by her family.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church with Mr. Tim Medley officiating. Burial will follow at Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Misty was born the second of four sisters, laying the foundation for her truly powerful love of family and friends. She began dating the love of her life and best friend, Craig Sides, in high school and married him March 27, 2004, and for twenty- two years, they could not be separated. Through their lives together, they were blessed with three sons: Cooper, Keagan and Clint, who became the center of her world. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Childress and was so honored to be a Sunday school teacher for the 3–4-year-old class, she was always so excited for VBS every year, her passion for teaching babies about Jesus made her an asset to her church and church family.
Misty loved all things outside! She and her family spent countless hours on or in the water whenever possible: the lake, a pool or on the open ocean. She doted on her children and nieces and nephews watching countless hours of sporting events and cheering on all of her babies! She absolutely loved making sure her house was always warm, welcoming and decorated for each season! She had an amazing smile that could make anyone feel special and included- her energy was so open and joyous that you couldn't help but want to be a better person just to be a part of her circle.
As a cosmetologist, Misty was gifted with an extraordinary ability to make anyone who sat in her chair feel not only welcomed but beautiful when they left- she loved all her clients and considered them family.
Misty was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was compassionate and steadfast. She was brutally honest and loyal to a fault. Misty was brave and has passed those traits on to her boys and anyone lucky enough to have known her- even in passing. She loved deeply and with her whole self. Misty is an example of how to be graceful even in the hardest of times.
We would like to take the time to thank the doctors, nurses, the hospice staff and the whole of the community who invested time and love into not only Misty but her family.
