Mona Fay Qualls, born November 22, 1937, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, at the age of 87.
Mona had a deep love for books, especially mysteries. Her personal library was filled to the brim with well-loved novels, and she always had a book nearby. She also enjoyed watching game shows—The Price Is Right was her favorite. Country western music played constantly in her home, and she listened faithfully on her Alexa, right up until the very end.
Mona and her beloved husband spent over 20 years traveling together, making memories, and exploring new places. Their adventures were some of her most treasured times.
She is survived by her children: Jackie Garbarino of Moore, OK; Paul Qualls and his wife Stephanie of Edmond, OK; and Jesse Qualls and his wife Flora of Edmond, OK. Mona was a proud grandmother to Michelle House, Jordan Grotts, Aaron Garbarino, Kensington Qualls, McKenna Qualls, Kolby Qualls, and Bijan Qualls. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Gracie Grotts, Emmy Grotts, and Teddy Grotts.
Mona was preceded in death by her son-in-law John Garbarino, her sister Kay West, and her parents, Cecil and Mamie Allcorn.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet strength, and the joy she found in simple pleasures. Mona’s love of stories, whether read or lived, leaves a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
