Mr. Charles "Chuck" Eugene Anderson, born on April 3, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home Savannah, Georgia, October 20, 2024. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who touched the lives of many through both his professional achievements and his personal passions.

Chuck was an award-winning photojournalist in Des Moines, where he famously covered Nikita Khrushchev's visit to Iowa in the 1950s for the Register and Tribune. His keen eye for capturing history allowed him to document moments that would be cherished for generations. Following his time in Iowa, Chuck moved to California, where he worked at UCLA while furthering his education. After a rewarding career, he retired and moved to The Villages, Florida, and eventually settled in beautiful Savannah.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chuck found joy in the simpler pleasures of life. Fond memories of his childhood include raising ribbon-winning hogs. He nurtured a passion for golfing and spent countless hours tinkering with electronics, always eager to learn and explore. Music, particularly the smooth sounds of jazz, brought him great pleasure.

Chuck's legacy lives on through the family he cherished. He is survived by his sons, Delbert Anderson (Tannie "Chic") and Ralph Anderson, both of Savannah, and his daughter, Laura Farran of Des Moines, Iowa. His grandchildren, Jessica, Jackie, Casey, Austin, Jacob, and Mikaela, along with nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Paul and Gladys Anderson, and his brother, Jim Anderson, who together have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

As his family reflects on a life well-lived, they celebrate Chuck's remarkable journey filled with creativity, adventure, and an unwavering love for those around him. While his physical presence may be gone, the memories he created and the love he shared will forever hold a cherished place in their hearts.
