Wilma Hinzman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 16, 2025.
Wilma Lenore Hanzlick Hinzman, aged 90, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025. Born on July 30, 1934, in Denver, Colorado, Wilma was the cherished daughter of Harvey and Marie Hanzlick.

Wilma's life was characterized by love, adventure, and dedication to her family. She met her husband, Lee Hinzman, while they were both employed at Coca-Cola in San Diego. Their bond was immediate, leading to their marriage on June 19, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared a mutual passion for camping and created many cherished memories with their camping group, The Good Ol' Boys and Girls.

Upon retiring, Lee and Wilma relocated to Sierra Vista, Arizona, where they became active members of several service organizations, including the Lions Club, the American Legion, and the Elk's Lodge/BPOE 2065. Their dedication to these groups reflected their strong commitment to community service.

Wilma's deep involvement in her community was evident through her service in various organizations, where she held esteemed positions such as Chaplain (Elks) and Director (Lions). She also volunteered at the gift shop in Canyon Vista Medical Center, offering her time and compassion to those in need. Additionally, Wilma was a proud member of The Red Hatters Club and the local Garden Club, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to numerous community initiatives.

Her spirit of service and warm heart touched many lives, and her legacy of giving will be fondly remembered.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Harvey and Marie Hanzlick; her brothers, Leonard and Tom; her great-grandson, Jacob; and her beloved husband, Lee.

Wilma is survived by her brother, Michael Hanzlick; her children, Jim (Cindy), Ruth (David), and Amy (Bob); and her grandchildren, Brittney, Jesse (Stephanie), Emily (Alex), Torrey, and Kelsey. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, James, Kayla, Elias, Rory, Warren, and Adeline.

Wilma will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 1st at The Sierra Vista Elks Lodge, 1 S Elks Ln, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.

Condolences to the family. Wilma showed her bright, happy personality every time I saw her. I enjoyed being a Red Hatter with her and chatting at the Elks Lodge.
