Nadine was born and raised in Elgin Minnesota to Carl and Elizabeth Schroeder. She was the middle child of eight. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin Minnesota. Nadine was a graduate from Elgin High School. She married Kenneth Gillespie in her family home on 4 October 1947 and they resided in Minnesota until 1970. They moved to Parker Colorado at that time. Nadine leaves behind four children; Elizabeth (Richard) Engkjer, Wayne (Kathy) Gillespie, Jeffrey (Janice) Gillespie, Heidi (Frank) Nibley, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. While living in Minnesota, she worked for Northwest Airlines. Once moved to Colorado she worked at a carnation greenhouse where she saved all of her earnings to take her family to the Holy Lands in 1972. She obtained her certification as a home health aide, and spent many years helping in the surrounding area. Her faith was an important part of her life and many will remember her loving kindness. She had a love of adventure and a humorous quip for everyone. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ken, her loving husband of 67 years, her sisters; Adeline, Betty and Gloria, her brothers; Marvin, Albert, Darwin, and Fred.
