Nancy A. (Ridings) Kenney, age 82, of Conewango Valley, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her generous spirit and loving heart. Nancy was born on November 24, 1942, in Evanston, Illinois, to the late William and Lillian (Clark) Ridings. Nancy's life was a testament to her resilience and caring nature. After marrying the love of her life, John F. Kenney, the couple enjoyed 50 beautiful years together before his passing. Together, they raised a family that continued to grow and bring her joy until her last days. She is survived by her children, Linda (Jeff) Carver, James (Jill) Kenney, William Kenney, Michael (Akemi) Kenney, Patricia Kenney, and Lillian (Chris) Howard. Her legacy includes her cherished grandchildren, Alec, Richard, Amanda (Brett), Monica (Kyle), and Ayla; as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Scarlet and Gabriel. Nancy's dedication to her community and to helping others was steadfast throughout her life. She spent her working years as a line worker at Cherry Creek Woodcraft, as a CNA at Gowanda Nursing Home, and assisting at Caldwell's Blueberry Farm. Her commitment to local initiatives shone through her service as a Board of Elections worker. Her interests were as diverse as they were community-focused. Nancy was a charter member of the Pine Valley VFW Auxiliary and a regular participant in the American Red Cross Blood Donation drives. As a T.O.P.S member, a part of the Home Bureau, and a den mother for the Cub Scouts, Nancy showed her passion for nurturing those around her. Her hands were rarely idle, often seen knitting baby hats for children at local hospitals or crafting lap blankets for veterans. Art and creativity were a big part of Nancy's life. She found joy in arts and crafts, playing computer games, and was always open to a good social gathering. Above all, Nancy cherished time spent with her family, who were the cornerstone of her world. Nancy will be remembered as a pillar of her community, a loving matriarch, and a friend to all. Her warmth, kindness, and legacy of service will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched. Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83 S. My sincerest condolences to the family. Through the years Nancy and I belonged to a number of the same organizations/clubs. I also knew her through the school system where her children and grandchildren attended. Our last contact was through the Board of Elections when she became part of the Ellington poll worker team. She was completely dedicated to her family and I´m sure has left a void in many lives. RIP Nancy. I´m sure John is happy to have you at his side once again. Donna Snyder
