It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful and beloved wife, mom, sister, and grandma, Nancy Petersen. Nancy, aged 70, passed away from complications due to her long struggle with MS on April 26, 2025.
Nancy was born on October 28, 1954, and grew up in Stockton with her parents Louis and Anne Dunyon and her siblings Mike, Debbie, Andy and Jill. After graduating from Tooele High School, she married Bill Eastburn and welcomed Jennifer and Alex. They later divorced.
Nancy met Jess while working in Tooele and married in 1979. Nancy was a court reporter before she retired due to her devastating and debilitating MS diagnosis.
Nancy and Jess spent their marriage in Tooele and led a life full of trips around the country on dirt roads with friends and around the world on cruises with family. Nancy was quick to laugh and was always up for the next adventure. She enjoyed flower arranging, stained glass, and macrame.
Nancy was a member of the Lincoln Highway Association, Oregon-California Trails Association and Trails West with Jess and she was his copilot along the dusty trails for many years.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Debbie, brother Mike, and her son Alex.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Jess, sister Jill, brother Andy, daughter Jennifer, grandkids Grace, Sam, Olivia, Ava, Owen, and Mary.
We will miss her fiery spirit, her funny quips, and her sage advice of "You never know".
We would like to thank Brenda and Amy for their compassion and care for Nancy during the last few years of her life.
There will be no public service, the family will be celebrating Nancy's life privately.
