Nancy Lee (Nix) Powers passed away on Thursday July 3, 2025, at the CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Medical Center, at the age of 80.
Dale and Ruth Nix gave birth to Nancy on Sunday October 29,1944, in Magnolia, Arkansas. Nancy was the oldest out of five children. Her siblings Sammy Nix married to Becky, Belinda (Nix) Rogers married to David, Andy Nix married to Cheryle, and Patti (Nix) Warner married to Kenneth. Nancy was a loving mother of two children, Todd Patterson and Pamela Patterson. Nancy was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, Katilyn Carruth, Jillian Bird, and Amanda Torres. She loved to spend every moment she could with her eight great grandkids, Makenna Petersen, Jaxxson Petersen, Dean Petersen, Kamryn Petersen, Brooklyn Cowger, Violet Harp, Andres Harp, and Daila Harp.
Nancy was a strong, intelligent, beautiful woman. She touched many souls in her lifetime. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend. Nancy was a passionate teacher for 20+ years in Stamps and Texarkana Arkansas. A few things Nancy enjoyed during her time here were The Light of Peace by Thomas Kinkade, music, coloring, the ocean breeze, and camping with her family. We will all miss her deeply and always remember her smile and the warmth of her hugs. Nancy (Granny) will always be with us.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Nancy will be laid to rest next to her mother and father at a graveside service at the Waldo Cemetery on Monday, July 7 at 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Christian Harp, Todd Patterson, Brad Nix, Kenneth Warner, David Bird, and Turner Dawson.
