Naomi Ruth Crossley, 90, of Oakley, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Logan County Independent Living Apartments, where she had been a resident for almost eight years, in Oakley, KS. She was born December 9, 1934, at home in Wellington, KS to Loyal M. and Leona (Blunk) Gaskill. Naomi Ruth Gaskill married Galyn F. Crossley June 5, 1955, at First Christian Church in Wellington, KS.
Naomi was a member of the United Methodist Church in both Hoisington and Oakley where she was very active. She taught Sunday school, attended the Women’s Circle group, always helped with funeral/wedding/potluck dinners. Naomi headed up and worked the annual Cancer Drive in Oakley, KS for several years.
During her years at the apartments, Naomi enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, participating in the various activities, and was always working on a jigsaw puzzle either in the community area or in her room.
Naomi dearly loved all her family and held a special love for all her grand and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; parents; granddaughter Robyn Wilson; five sisters, Emma Fern Hetrick, Mary Lee King, Betty Jean Gressel, Ada Marie Baker, and Vera Maxine Baker; and one brother, Loyal Wayne “Pete” Gaskill.
Survivors include her children, Ruth (Rod) Wilson, Oakley, KS, Brenda (Bill) George, Rose Hill, KS, Glenn (Kim) Crossley, Ft. Morgan, CO, and Gary (Catherine) Crossley, Independence, MO.; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. The funeral service is at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the Oakley United Methodist Church, with burial in the Oakley City Cemetery.
