Nathan Willis Heins, 84 of Postville, Iowa passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Nathan was born May 2, 1941 to Henry Willis and Eunice Anna (Schultz) Heins in Iowa City, Iowa. He was baptized on December 23, 1941 in Postville and confirmed December 21, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana, Iowa.
On July 6, 1981 Nathan was united in marriage with Caryl Brink in Tennessee. He worked for Iowa Turkey Products for many years and also helped local farmers. Nathan enjoyed playing bingo and cards, fishing, hunting and going snowmobiling. His favorite holiday was Christmas and a cup of coffee at the table and taking the kids for ice cream at the Pit Stop was a favorite pastime. Nathans greatest joy was spending time with his family and his dogs.
Surviving Nathan are his wife of 44 years, Caryl Heins of Postville, Iowa; children, Randy Heins of Monona, Iowa, Patricia Ann Heins of Luana, Iowa, Neil Heins of Monona, Iowa, Becky (Tom) Harnack of Monona, Iowa and John (Lisa Peck) Heins of Bondurant, Iowa; step-children, Paul (Loretta) Weipert of Farmersburg, Iowa and Christine Walleser of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Alicia, Erin, Morgan, Annie, Ashlee, Natalie, Johnathon, Jordan, Miracle, Cierra, Todd and Blake; fifteen great-grandchildren; his siblings, Jerry Heins of Postville, Iowa, Gloria (Gary) Gelo of Waukon, Iowa and Amelia "Babe" Brimeyer of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Nathan in death were his parents, Henry and Eunice Heins; daughter, Donna Mae Heins; and his siblings, Carol King, Linda Krousie, Diane Heins and Judy Heins, sister-in-law, Karen Heins; and nephew, Jay Heins.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home in Postville, Iowa. There will also be a one-hour visitation before services at the church on Friday.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, July 25, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Noel as the officiant.
Interment will follow at Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa is assisting the family with services.
