Nathaniel Alan Rouse, lovingly known as “Nano,” was born on December 9, 2005, in Harlingen, Texas. He passed away at his home in Spring, Texas, on August 8, 2025, at the age of 19.

Nathaniel will be remembered for far more than the years he lived—he will be remembered for how he lived them. From an early age, Nathaniel showed a unique spark. He had a natural talent for art and creativity, often finding new ways to express himself—whether through drawing, crafting, or simply putting his own personal touch on everything he did. He was deeply loyal to the people he loved, always standing by family and friends with quiet strength and devotion.

He had a passion for the outdoors, often found hiking wooded trails, camping under the stars, or enjoying the beach with family and friends. Skateboarding, however, was his greatest love—he would skate anywhere and everywhere, turning sidewalks, parking lots, and city streets into his own personal playground.

Nathaniel had a rare gift for making people laugh. From the first time you met him, he had a way of drawing you in with his humor, his quick wit, and his infectious smile. He could light up any room he walked into, and he had a style all his own—bold, confident, and uniquely “Nano.” Friends and family will forever remember the way he could turn even an ordinary day into a good memory, whether it was through a shared joke, a deep conversation, or simply his presence.

He valued connection and never shied away from a meaningful talk. Those who were closest to him will treasure the heart-to-heart conversations, the long laughs, and the moments that can’t be repeated but will never be forgotten. His adventurous spirit, kind heart, and the love he gave so freely will live on in all who knew him.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Elva Dean Mathis, and his grandparents, William and Harlene Johnson.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Dana Rouse; brother, Daniel Rouse; sister, Marian Rouse; and daughter, Victoria Salinas. He is also survived by his grandparents Curtis and Elva Sevick, Stevan (Brent) Blythe, and Stacy Blythe; his great-grandfather, “Papaw” Donald Mathis; and his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forward.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Eickenhorst Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Old Salem Cemetery in Hempstead, Texas.
