Nina Gail (Cullivan) Allen, 74, of Cynthiana, passed away peacefully Friday, July 25, 2025 at her daughter's home surrounded by family. She was born January 4, 1951 in Princeton to the late Charles and Nina (Hedden) Cullivan. Nina grew up in the Baldwin Heights neighborhood and graduated from Princeton High School. She worked for many years in quality control and could often be found traveling across the country with her husband to his military veteran reunions where she developed many lifelong friendships. She was a member of the Good Neighbors Club in Cynthiana and enjoyed flower gardening and reading. Nina was a great cook and would often host family for meals of her famous fried chicken among many other great dishes. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids whom she adored.

Nina enjoyed sitting on the deck of their river cabin drinking coffee and watching the barges and the occasional riverboat drifting by- even tracking barge numbers in a notebook. Nina's favorite pastime was the time that she, Ed, and the dogs spent down by the river.

Nina will best be remembered by those who knew and loved her for her kind, generous, and humorous spirit. She opened her selfless heart for many relatives and her daughters' friends to become like a second mom providing guidance and support. When friends or family members needed a hand, encouragement, or support you could depend on Nina.

Nina is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ed Allen of Cynthiana; daughters, Jennifer Allen-Helmer of Mt. Vernon and Mandy Stratman (Ryan) of Evansville; grandchildren, Connor Allen (Kati), Will Stratman, Evan Stratman, and Ellie Stratman; "sister-cousin", Kay (Ballard) Mand and husband, Eric; brothers-in-law, Larry Allen, Bob Allen (Joyce), and Rick Allen (Chong Cha), and sisters-in-law, Terri Allen and Paula Brown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill and Bob Cullivan; son-in-law, Eric Helmer; brothers-in-law, David and Sam Allen, and sister-in-law Mary Jane Allen.

The family would like to thank the care team at Hospice in Harmony, especially Nina's daughter Jennifer, for their dedicated and compassionate care in Nina's final days.

The funeral service celebrating Nina's life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Chaplain Tara Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Cynthiana. Visiting hours will be held from 4 until 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that those who are willing and able to please wear a touch of orange which was Nina's favorite color.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be given to the Oddfellow's Cemetery in Princeton, IN or to the donor's choice of charity in Nina's honor.
