Norma Jean Crowe, 82, of Harrisonburg, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home in Alderson, West Virginia on July 30, 2025, after several illnesses. Born in Alderson on September 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Edna Alice Bowyer (Hall) and Mack Bowyer.

She was an incredibly strong, independent, and selfless woman. She was an excellent homemaker, expert baker and horse enthusiast. Throughout her life she always strived to learn new things and to better herself and the lives of everyone in her circle.

Along with her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her son Arnold Crowe; a sister Beulah Coleman; and brothers Frank Bowyer, Russell Bowyer, Roy Bowyer, and Virgil Bowyer.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Scott Crowe; her daughters Yvonne, Marsha, and Amanda; one brother Max Bowyer of Alderson; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Although her family will have memories of her to cherish, her presence, wit, perseverance, and laughter will be greatly missed.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services, and she will be cremated.

Alderson Funeral Services and Smathers Funeral Chapel is honored to have been entrusted to care for Norma and her family during their great time of need.
