Norma Joyce Hawkins was born September 8, 1942, in Jackson County, TN, and she passed away on Tuesday July 15, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 82.
She was the daughter of the late B. Ballard and Retta Mansell Ballard. On July 2, 1960, she was married to Earl Hawkins, having celebrated 64 years of marriage. She was a member of the Freewill Church of Christ.
In her free time Norma enjoyed being crafty, where she found great pleasure in sewing and shopping at Ross and Goodwill for deals. She also enjoyed spending time with her family cooking and taking care of the people she loved.
Ms. Hawkins was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Polly Clinton and Anita Rhoten.
Survivors include her son: Wayne (Cindy) Hawkins of Cookeville; daughter: Tammy (Eric) Smith of Watertown; grandsons: Conner (Hannah) Hawkins of Cookeville and Eric (Brooke) Breedlove of Lebanon. Nieces and nephews along with many friends also survive.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 17, 2025, 4-8 pm and Friday 10 am to 12 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson, and Bro. Andrew Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville.
Memorial donations may be made to Mansell Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
