Norma Jean Wilcox (Greening) ObituaryNorma J. Wilcox passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She was born on October 12, 1931, in Loami, Illinois and was always a country girl at heart. Right out of high school she found her way to Springfield in 1950. After a few small jobs, her career took off at the New York Life Insurance Company where she received numerous commendations. Various jobs over the years included working at Honeywell on top secret military contracts and administrative work at General Mills. The job she enjoyed the most was with the Illinois Supreme Courts where she worked for 25 years before retiring in 1997.
Norma was a long-time member of South Side Christian Church where she enjoyed Sunday School and fellowship.
Over the years she enjoyed square dancing, bowling, gardening, ski club, writing poems and traveling. After retirement, you would find her at her favorite place, the golf course!
She is survived by her daughter Susan Rhodes and son-in-law, Brian Rhodes, two beloved grandchildren: Joshua (Lindy) Wilcox and Amber (Tyler) Clough and four great grandchildren: Lily, Colton, Carter and Austin.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Greening and Geneva Greening; sister Marilyn Standefer and brothers Carl Greening and Don Greening.
She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. As Norma would say "toodles".
