Norris Forum, 90, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Montana, with his beloved family and friends by his side.

Norris was the oldest of three and born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Alf and Josephine Forum. Norris grew up in Minnesota and later Great Falls, Montana where he graduated from Great Falls High School. Norris was the first person in the school’s history to obtain a Letter for his percussion skills in the band. Throughout his life Norris loved signing and dancing and the family is so grateful to Prairie Ridge Village for so many opportunities for him to sing and dance. Norris met, and later married Marge, when he paid his Musicians Union dues, and they were married until his death, 68 years later. One of the greatest joys of Norris’s life was to be dad to Faith and Erick, and especially grandpa to Kasey.

Norris filled a lot of roles during his life, first his career with the Montana Highway Department which necessitated he moved the family to Glasgow where he set down deep roots. Norris loved people and worked as Vice President of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce before retiring from the Corp of Engineers as a Dam Safety Inspector.

Norris was a committed and loyal member of the Glasgow Evangelical Church, where enduring and meaningful relationships, most of which span over 60 years, were formed. Those relationships truly demonstrate how much he loved his friends and family (and the food that came with them of course!). What a truly remarkable person Norris was, and how blessed we are to have known him.

Norris loved watching his grandson rodeo, helping Erick farm, and keeping everything running smoothly. Norris valued hard work and was always willing to give you his time and share his wisdom, whether you thought you needed it or not! Norris was so proud of his family and his greatest joy was to see what good people his children and grandson became.

Norris loved road trips, golf, and maps. He spent many years driving across the country to see something interesting or visit any of his many friends, as long as he had his trusty Rand McNally Atlas and several folded maps. He believed you could never have too many maps, as they are always “good to have”. If you were ever traveling through, he would hand you a map to make sure you took the most advisable route, and always tell you what the weather was going to be. Norris’s sense of humor was legendary and one of his most endearing gifts to us. He was always up for a good joke, and you would always know he “got you” when you saw the twinkle in his eye and his smile.

Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Alf and Josephine, his stepfather, Albert Johnson, and brother Jerry Forum. Norris is survived by his wife, Marge, their children and spouses Faith and Bruce of Colorado, Erick and Joan of Larslan, and his beloved grandson, Kasey Forum. Norris is also survived by his sister, Margaret Milton of Bluffton, South Carolina. He is also mourned and missed by his brother-in-law, Jim Haney and his spouse Jan, of Darby, Montana, his sister-in-law Kathy Hamilton and her spouse Ross of Sequim, Washington, as well as nieces and nephews who will carry forward fond memories knowing they were deeply loved. While we will miss his jokes and the twinkle in his eye, we are so very grateful for his deep and abiding faith in God, as we have our “map” and know we will see him again someday.

Family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2025, at Bell Mortuary. Norris’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Glasgow Evangelical Church with Pastor Seth Runner officiating. A reception will follow the burial at Highland Cemetery. Condolences may be left online for the family at bellmortuarymt.com. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Glasgow Evangelical Church in Norris’s name.
