Ratliff City - Oneta Ruth (Staggs) Walker, aged 78, passed away on May 18, 2025, in Grand Saline, Texas. She was born on December 9, 1946, in Deport, Texas, to the late Coy James Staggs and Margaret Frances (Howell) Staggs.
Oneta was raised in Countyline and graduated from Velma High School. On April 23, 1965, she married Clarence J. "CJ" Walker, with whom she shared a loving partnership for 60 years. Throughout her life, Oneta dedicated herself to the nursing profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), caring for others with compassion and commitment.
Oneta was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, taking great joy in her family. She was known for her love of shopping, enjoyment of western movies, playing cards and marbles and her vibrant approach to life.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Joe Dale Walker. Oneta is survived by her beloved husband, CJ Walker; her children, Laura Franklin and husband Del, Bil Walker and wife Lennis, and Tim Walker; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Darlene Jones and husband Lowell, and Arlene Bingham and husband Lynn; brother Coy Joe Staggs and wife Debbie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City, followed by graveside services at Ratliff City Cemetery at 2:00 P.M with Pastor Tanner Zumwalt officiating.
Oneta will be remembered for her warm spirit, dedication to her family, and a zest for life that touched all who knew her.
