John and Decie (Crosby) Cargill.
She attended Drumright Public Schools.
She married Bob McBroom
on June 21,1953 at
Freedom Hill Baptist Church
immediately following the
Sunday church service.
If you looked up the word "homemaker,"
its definition truly describes Opal and
her love for her family.
Opal was a member of the
Mannford Assembly of God church
for over 65 years where
she taught Sunday School,
led Children's Church
and also drove a van for the bus ministry.
She served as president of the
WM's for many years
and once a month she and other members
spent the morning hours making glazed donuts
to sell to support missions.
She spent many years running
the concession stand
for the Mannford Little League
Baseball organization.
For more than 20 years she
babysat the youth of Mannford.
In the late 1980's,
she accepted a position with
Tulsa County Social Services
retiring in 2003.
She was also known for being a seamstress,
baker of tasty beautiful cakes,
spectacular pies and cookies
and she loved artwork and creating things.
She enjoyed her flower gardens
especially her red poppies.
Opal was preceded in death
by her husband, Bob,
son, Tim, her parents,
two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her children
Matthew McBroom,
Mark (Sheila) McBroom
and Lourie (John) Hunter,
