Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory - La JuntaPamela Jean Harvill, age 79, recently of Casa Grande, AZ went to be with Our Lord on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the residence of her nephew, Russell (Cindy) Johnston in Casa Grande, AZ. She was born on March 26, 1946 in San Diego, CA, to Ismael Lorona Ruiz and Nellie Marie Arce.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Maria Isabella (Hayden) Johnston; Lucille (Harvey) Ayles; Tony Souza Keys & best friend Barbara L Rosales. She is survived by nephews & nieces Russell (Cindy) Johnston; Carl “Bud” (Mony) King; Nellie Marie (Roy) Hudson; all of AZ & Wilma Massingill of TX.
Pam graduated from Castle Park High School, Chula Vista, CA class of 1964. She spent the majority of her life in California living her final years in Colorado & Arizona. After retirement, her best friend Barbara convinced her to move to CO where she was adopted as an honorary sister by all of Barbara’s family. She enjoyed road trips to CA to visit friends & occasionally house sit for them; traveling to Laughlin, NV to frequent the casinos & shows; watching movies & football, especially her favorite team The Washington Commanders (formerly The Washington Redskins), visiting with family/friends & praying the rosary with the Medina girls on Sunday evenings. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe/St Patrick Catholic Church. Her favorite pastime was playing video games. Pam was a very private person but that didn’t keep her from being kind, loving & compassionate. She had a soft spot for animals, especially cats/kittens. Pam battled cancer, not once but twice, like a true warrior.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to nephew Russell & Cindy Johnston for their loving care for Pam in her final time. Thank you to Compassus Hospice of Casa Grande, AZ for their love and compassion in AZ. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Arkansas Valley Hospice of La Junta, CO for their quality care, support, & dear friendship during their loving care for her in CO.
Pam will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, September 12, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Matitu of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St Patrick Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta, CO.
