It brings great sadness to our hearts as we announce the passing of Pansy Lucille Taylor Clark on Sunday, July 13, 2025. We reflect on the special bond she shared with her parents, that touches her family with great meaning. Pansy was born on the same date that her mother celebrated her own birthday, and she passed away on the same date her father had died years earlier. This affirms just how deeply her spirit was woven into her family history.
Born on March 25, 1959, in Buncombe County, Pansy was the daughter of the late Samuel Taylor and the late Sarah Borden Taylor. She was a member of the 1977 graduating class of Enka High School and will be remembered as a friend to everyone.
Pansy went on to dedicate 22 years of faithful service to the US Park Service / Blue Ridge Parkway. Her career in dispatching and emergency communication was not just a job; it was a calling.
Remembering Pansy brings smiles through tears. Her delightful personality and fun spirit brought joy to everyone. Her father nicknamed her "Magpie" because it seemed as if Pansy was always talking!
Above all, she was a lady of faith and a member of the Luther Pentecostal Holiness Church in Candler. Pansy leaves behind a legacy of great love; she cherished her family with all her heart and soul. Pansy will be deeply missed. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Clark, and a sister, Marie Hewitt.
Surviving are her daughter, Leigh Annette Clark of Candler; her granddaughter, Sarah Ann Ingle of Candler; sister, Barbara Hudgins (Jeff) of Candler; nieces, Amber Montana (Dan) of Aiken, SC, Michelle Craig (Wayne) of Candler; a great-nephew, Carson Boles of Marshall, and a great-niece Tayler Boles of Burnsville.
A celebration of life service will be announced.
