Patricia Cerrato Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 25, 2025.
Patricia Cerrato (Morris) 78 of Sunset Beach, NC ascended to Heaven on April 1,2024 due to complications associated with Alzheimer's. Patricia, lovingly known as Pam, was born and raised in Boston MA. She attended Blessed Sacrament High School and Melrose Wakefield School of Nursing. Pam was always known for her big, dimpled smile and her stunning blue eyes. Pam was one of four girls and raised by a single mom in Jamaica Plaine, MA. She loved sharing stories of her past. The 'Morris Girls' were closely knit and experienced a rather colorful upbringing that consisted of being on the game show Strike it Rich and a younger sister being born in a car on Boston's Storrow Drive. Pam, her sisters and mother were all nurses. Pam became an RN when she was just shy of turning 20. In reflection, Pam would often share how at the ripe age of 17 and in the abscence of a doctor she independently assisted in the delivery of a baby. Pam was a wonderful nurse. A profession she took great pride in. During her career Pam specialized working in geriatrics. Pam's patients would often refer to her as 'Dimples' as she was notably smiling when providing care. Pam had a wonderful sense of humor and being able to laugh with her patients and colleagues she said was the best part of her job. While Pam was in nursing school, she was set up on a blind date with a young man named Rich. When asked about her first impression of her soon-to-be husband of 55 years, she would laughingly comment on how it wasn't love at first sight. Pam and Rich married and moved to Lexington, MA where they devotedly partnered in raising their only daughter Laura along with their scaley, feathered and furry family members. After living in Lexington for 35 years, Pam and Rich retired and moved to Sunset Beach, NC. There Pam enjoyed spending time with friends, taking in the salty air while spending hours in the water. When Pam's granddaughter Ava was born and esteemed as the 'best' gift she ever received; she made a point to be up in MA. Pam is survived by her daughter and her biggest fan Laura Mahoney and husband Peter and their daughter Ava. Pam is also survived by her sisters Margaret Gallagher and her husband Robert and Mary Heafy, and her Husband Michael, and Brother -in-law Harvey Mc Innis, along with many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and her loving looooong mini doxy granddogs Lois and Frida. She is predeceased by her husband Richard, and her 'Irish Twin' sister Kay McInnis, Mother Eleanor Morris (Flathers), and Father William Morris. Per Pam's request there are no formal services. In honor of celebrating Pam's life and this anniversary of her passing please let it be known that she was the most selfless, loving and caring mother and grandmother. She would move mountains for her girls. Donations can also be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or any meaningful organization or charity near and dear to one's heart. God Bless.

Pam was my first cousin. She and her husband Rich comprised one of the great teams I saw in my lifetime. When I was doing officer training in Newport, Rhode Island, they came down for a weekend. We ate well at a great Newport lobster restaurant!

Pam was a Blessing in our lives. Her smile laughter and kindness was a joy for us All.
If I was able to know how to post pictures I would. My memories are with we. When I pass both houses I think of her and Rich.
Pam raised a beautiful daughter to be a kind loving person. Peter she loved and listened to and smiled always. The best present she told me she ever received was the birth of her granddaughter Ava. Pam is watching over you all. Love one of the Southern angels. NB
