Patricia Eleanor Zoeller Courtney, lovingly known as "Pat" to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at 7:15 a.m., at the age of 91. A Rosary Ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, August 1, 2025, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 2, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Pat was born on December 14, 1933, in a farmhouse in South Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her sweet and quiet nature, paired with her subtle humor, gave her a strength of character like no other. She was a woman of prayer, whose faith carried her through all the ups and downs of raising a family, a family she kept first in all things.

She found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life: being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. (We've almost lost count!) She also spent several years working for Brandt's Ace Hardware, helping to support five teenagers. Among her family's fondest memories are the Sunday picnics after Mass at Lake Ponca Park with fellow church families.

A devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ponca City, OK, for nearly 65 years, Pat was active in the St. Francis Guild, where she helped prepare hundreds of funeral dinners. Her devotion to Mary, mother of Jesus, brought her great comfort. Pat prayed the Rosary daily and gathered with friends every Monday to do so together.

Pat married her high school sweetheart, Thomas E. Courtney, after writing him heartfelt letters while he served during the Korean conflict. They moved to Ponca City with their three children (with one on the way), where they built a life centered around family, church, and school. Pat was a Campfire Girls leader, Boy Scout den mother, and taught her girls to sew and keep house. Pat made pies for Tom, but always saved some dough for cinnamon-sugar pie dough cookies for the kids after-school snacks. She was a faithful wife, an awesome mother, and a dear friend to many.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas Eugene Courtney; her parents, Benedict and Florence Zoeller; her siblings: Aloysius Zoeller, Frank Zoeller, Bob Zoeller, Gregory Zoeller, Albert Zoeller, Virginia Courtney, Cordelia Crabtree, Rose Marie Koman, Betty Parker; her son, David Alan Courtney; grandson, and Max Broden Courtney.

She is survived by: her brothers, Ben Zoeller, Dan Zoeller, Steve Zoeller; sister, Florence Courtney and Nellie Williams; her children, Teresa A. Courtney, Larry and Angie Courtney, Linda Courtney, Sharon and Steve Fields; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren;

A life well lived, full of love, family, and faith in God.
