Patricia “Patty” D. Hendricks, 74, of Vermont, passed away at 10:15 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Wesley Village in Macomb.
She was born on July 13, 1950, in Rushville, the daughter of the late Joseph Leslie & Claira Lenora (Edmiston) Hendricks. Patty worked for many years as a cook at Western Illinois University in Macomb until her retirement in 2012. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music; especially The Beatles. Patty loved her cats and treated them like children in her home. Her two cats; Buddy & Sparkle gave her much love and joy over the years. She was an active member of the Vermont United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years there.
Patty is survived by several cousins and friends and by her cat; Buddy. Besides her parents; Patty was preceded in death by her cat Sparkle.
Graveside services honoring Patty’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Vermont Cemetery in Vermont. Pastor Robert Greene will preside. Memorial contributions in memory of Patty are suggested to the Vermont American Legion Auxiliary. The Triplett & Wood Funeral Home of Rushville has been entrusted with the care and arrangements.
