Patricia Mary Korosi, cherished by her family and friends, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the age of 81 surrounded by family. Patricia was born on March 14, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland, and she was a long time resident of Barataria, Louisiana.
Patricia is the beloved wife of over 60 years to Ferenc Korosi. She is the loving mother of John Paul Korosi and wife Erin, and the loving grandmother of Olivia Kathleen Korosi and Abigail Patricia Korosi. She is also survived by her siblings Sylvia Madej Grabus (Bob) and Janet “Toni” Madej (Dean), her sister-in-law Klara Galiano (Patrick), as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is the daughter of the late Jospeh Andrew Madej and the late Helen Sophie Sierputowska Madej Smith of Baltimore, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph Madej, Maryann Madej, and Christopher Madej.
Patricia was a long time parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte, Louisiana. She served as altar server coordinator for many years and volunteered at countless school and church functions throughout the years. She was a homemaker, and she had a passion for gardening. She loved beautiful flowers and just being in nature. She loved going for walks and sitting by the bayou. She was a kind and sincere person; always willing to listen and offered great advice. She was warm and caring and always comforted others. She was creative and loved to sew, often making clothes and costumes. She loved to play scrabble and work on crossword puzzles. She loved old movies and old tv shows. She was fun and loved dancing to good music. She loved going for weekend drives in the car; sometimes near, sometimes far. She loved the beach, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She adored her husband, son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters, and they all adored her.
Her funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and a funeral mass will follow at 1:30 PM.
