Patricia (Pat) Ruth Masucci, daughter of the late Robert Piatt and the late Helen Jennings, was born on July 5,1927 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. A wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Pat entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
In her 97 years of life, Pat positively impacted all those around her. She led her life with kindness, love, and compassion. She had an incredible sense of humor and was a captivating story teller. Pat was the older sister of her late brother, Robert (Bob) Piatt. She loved her brotherdearly, he was her best friend, and together they shared a very happy childhood.
At a time when most girls did not attend college, Pat attended College Misericordia, now known as Misericordia University, majoring in Home Economics - Food and Nutrition. She recalled her father receiving a lot of criticism for sending her to school, but she always valued her education. In 1949 she moved to Piermont and began working as a teacher at the old Tappan Zee High School. She taught Home Economics for many years. Later, she worked as the Supervising Registered Dietitian at Rockland County Children's Psychiatric Hospital until she retired at 84 years old.
In 1954, Pat married Joseph (Joe) Masucci and together they had four children: Steve, Genie, Dave, and Joe. She was the kind of mother who fostered creativity. She was a talented seamstress, artist, and cook and passed these skills on to her children.
She found so much joy in being the Nana of Chris, Erin, Doon, Lily, Eli, Reggie, Tito, Derek, Dorothy, Jackie, and Michael. As well as a great grandmother, or Gigi as she liked to be called by her great grandchildren, to Teagan, Jon, and Julian. Pat was a champion of her grandchildren's interest. She always made time for them and they frequently came to visit and spend time with her.
In many ways, Pat was the glue that held such a large family together. She was the center of the family's universe. She was a firm believer that when you count your blessings, to always count them twice. Her love lives on in her four children, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all those whose lives and hearts she had touched along the way.
Family and friends are invited to attend the mass that will be held for her funeral on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. John the Baptist Church, 895 Piermont Ave Piermont, NY 10986. Flowers can be sent to Moritz Funeral Home, 98 Rt. 303 South, Tappan, NY 10983. A celebration of life is to follow.
