Patricia McCoy Obituary

Patricia Joyce McCoy, age 82, formerly of Newport News, died on Friday, July 11, 2025. Patricia was born on September 5, 1942, to the late Joe and Hazel Edwards Chapman in West Virginia. She worked as a sales clerk at Super Fresh. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and needlework. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James L. McCoy, brother Freddie Chapman, sisters Joanne Rose, Brenda Soloft, and Geneva Easterling. She is survived by her sisters, Lois Henderson, and Nina Collier, and her brothers, Robert Joe Chapman (Veronica) and Michael Chapman (Jean). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Riverside Hospice and Gloucester House for their exceptional care of Patricia. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Arthur Wolz. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
