Patricia A. Opelt, a longtime resident of Plain City, Ohio, left this world for her eternal home in heaven on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born in Woodville Ohio, the youngest child and only daughter of Carl E. and Gladys M. (Recker) Opelt, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Lawrence Opelt and Carl Opelt Jr.

As a child, Pat enjoyed growing up on the family farm and showing her beef cattle in 4-H. She relocated to central Ohio and found joy in her new family of friends from her two long-time jobs. Pat was employed by Select Sires Inc. in Plain City for more than 40 years, working in various departments over time, making lasting friendships along the way. Pat was also a waitress at the Der Dutchman restaurant in Plain City for decades. Many of her co-workers and customers became near and dear to her heart. Pat also built a family of friends in her neighborhood.

Pat had a very strong work ethic and attitude of assistance that was appreciated by so many. She will be remembered with love for her friendship, her love of plants and flowers, and her adoration of NFL football, especially the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick.

Friends may gather for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2-4 PM at the Select Sires Kellgren Center Building, Plain City, OH. Memorial donations may be made in Pat's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Burial will be private.
