With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Alan Hancock, son of Richard and Anne Hancock of Paducah. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Joe left us peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, at the age of 76 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was a thoughtful and dependable friend - always there when someone needed a hand, a laugh, or just a good story. He was a keeper of family traditions who instilled the values of hard work and integrity in his children. Most of all, he loved his wife Phyllis deeply, considering her his greatest treasure.
Joe was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and built a remarkable sales career, earning multiple awards along the way. He also started two successful businesses.
Joe leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lessons that will echo for generations. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughter Melanie, son Justin, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Reidland Baptist Church, 5559 Benton Road, Paducah, KY 42003. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).org" target="_new" rel="nofollow">PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).org.

On Saturdays when I was visiting his sister Linda, we would chase he and his brothers around the yard to come in to take a bath. They needed to be ready to attend RBC on Sunday. He and his brothers were all special: Jimmy, Johnny, Joey and Jerry! Becky and Linda, his older sisters were beloved friends!
Love,
