Patrick Joseph Derbes, born March 24,1968, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and eventually moved to Lacombe where he was a graduate of St. Paul's High School. He was part owner of Providence Memorial Park.
Patrick loved life and never met a stranger. He loved story telling (sometimes a little embellished) and telling jokes (sometimes the same ones over and over again). He loved playing cards with his family especially when a little "bet" was involved. Back in the day, Patrick enjoyed fishing, hunting and a good ole crawfish boil. His favorite band was The Rolling Stones in which he truly thought he could sing and dance like Mick Jagger. Patrick was an avid LSU fan.
Patrick is survived by his three children whom he was the most proud of, Patrick, Emily and Sam. He is also survived by his siblings John Jr., David (Karen), Jeffrey (Tammy), Jennifer and Kim Haile (Bobby), along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and great friends. Patrick is preceded in death by his father John Derbes, his mother Linda Derbes and his grandparents.
A visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11 AM-1PM. Family and friends are invited to Winston's Pub on Metairie Road following the visitation from 2 PM-4PM. Expressions of love and sympathy may be viewed and placed at www.tharpcares.com.
