MONAHAN, Patrick John – of Clio, age 70, died Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his residence. Honoring Patrick's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Messiah Lutheran Church Youth Program "Hydrate".
Patrick was born May 13, 1954 in Yale, Michigan to the late John and Josephine (Maurice) Monahan. He grew up in Peck, Michigan before moving to Clio, Michigan and graduating from Clio High School with the class of 1973. Patrick proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1973 to 1977. On February 2, 1974 he married Susan Hensel in Clio, Michigan. Patrick received his Business Management Degree from Mott Community College in 1985. Prior to his retirement in 2015, he worked for AT&T as a Telephone Technician with 35 years of service. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday School and Marriage classes with his wife Susan. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the church and helped with several special events there. Patrick enjoyed grilling, fishing, gardening and was a handyman that would help everyone. He also volunteered at the Genesee County Habitat for Humanity and the Franklin Avenue Mission. However, his greatest joys in life was his faith, and his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife of 51 years, Susan Monahan; Children, Lorena (Gbenga) Matthew-Monahan, Luke (Kristen) Monahan, Lance (Connie) Monahan, Larissa (Ernest) Monahan, Lacara (Gabrial) Weiss, Lory (Norm) Monahan; Grandchildren, Olivia, Betty, Maxine, Marlo, Roland, David, Scarlett, Josephine, Dami, Tobi, Funmi, Lorenso; Great Grandson, Zeke; Siblings, Faye (Perry) McKimmy, Debbie Thomson, Mike Monahan, Jane Rekuc, Lisa Monahan, Chere' Monahan; several nieces and nephews.
