It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patrick David Ridgeway, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Born on May 16, 1969, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Patrick was the son of the late David Bennett Ridgeway and Susan Shepherd Ridgeway. Patrick was a graduate from Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, Louisiana (1987) and the University of Mississippi (1992).
Patrick was a true lover of life; he had a deep appreciation for family, food, conversation, and meaningful connection. Possessing the rare ability to make everyone feel seen, he treated every person with the same warmth and respect, regardless of background or status. He spoke not just to the external, but to the soul. He had a special kind of presence, a genuine, generous heart that reflected each person's importance in his life.
Patrick was a respected leader in the medical sales industry and achieved great success across multiple decades, consistently ranking among the top in his field and earning numerous awards-a testament to his drive, professionalism, and ability to build lasting relationships. Colleagues remember him not only for his impressive accomplishments but also for his mentorship, sharp wit, and genuine care for others.
Patrick had a strong entrepreneurial spirit and was a philanthropist in his own way. He anonymously gave financial gifts and support to many without hesitation and throughout his career he continually displayed selflessness. He helped countless people get jobs and took pride in connecting others. Patrick was deeply invested in other's success, making you feel like you could accomplish anything. But above all, Patrick's most important and cherished role was being a provider for his family. That's what got him up every morning and gave his work true purpose.
Funny and charismatic, Patrick lead with laughter as his storytelling was second to none. Generous and deeply thoughtful, Patrick carried a quiet strength and a heart too big to define. The ones who received the greatest outpouring of this heart every single day were, without question, his greatest pride and joy - his family. Nothing made Patrick more proud, and he made sure they knew it.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Davis Ridgeway, and their children, Alexis Ridgeway Gay (Zachary) of Inlet Beach, Florida; Eli Ridgeway of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; Owen Ridgeway of Jackson, Mississippi; and Frances Hollingsworth of Jackson, Mississippi; the mother of his children, Louise Hooker of Jackson, MS; his adoring siblings Katie Ridgeway Scott (Stanton) of Houston, Texas; Michael Ridgeway (Tereza) of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Christopher Ridgeway (Stephanie) of New Orleans, Louisiana; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. Patrick is preceded in death by his parents David Bennett Ridgeway and Susan Shepherd Ridgeway of New Orleans, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Patrick's legacy by sharing a meal with someone you love, offering kindness freely, or simply treating a stranger like a friend.
Love is the resounding sentiment and legacy of Patrick's life. He was one of one, and he is missed beyond measure.

A beautiful bright light has gone out for me today. Patrick and I were very close friends at Ole Miss starting the very first weekend I attended there. One of the first dates I had at Ole Miss. I was so blessed to keep that incredible friendship over the last 3 decades. He was LARGER the LIFE and could read a room like non other. His charm, stories and wit were his just a few of his great assets. He was so loyal to all he loved and he loved "BIG". When I got diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2016 he was constantly reaching out and never stopped. Alexis, Eli and Owen, he loved you so much and was so proud of ALL of you. He talked about you guys all of the time. Louise he loved you big too. He loved his brothers and sisters, Katie I love you very much and my prayers are with all of you. His mother Susan was the love of his life. I will carry the countless memories and heartfelt talks we have had over the years in my heart FOREVER. You will be terribly missed. To his beautiful family I will be praying for each of you everyday. With all of the love I can hold in my heart may you feel the peace and strength of Christ surround you, Christina (Martin)Hermetz "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." - Psalm 73:26

I had the rare pleasure to work with Patrick in the early 2000s in the Medtronic AAA division. He was not only one of the coolest guys I´d ever worked with but immensely talented as a med device sales pro. He was highly respected by his customers and peers. His sense of humor and charisma were larger than life and drew everyone in towards him. We were lucky to be his colleague and friend. When Jerry Donald died, Patrick was there for us when we were so shocked and sad. I wish he could be there to comfort us with this unspeakable loss. Patrick is truly a one of a kind and we will miss him dearly. Our prayers are with his family.

Patrick and I worked together at SCIMED in the 90s and Medtronic in the early 2000s. We became close friend and would talk often in our years at Medtronic. He was an amazing sales person with great interpersonal skills. I could not have a conversation with Patrick with a classic " Hey Brother"! He always taught me something, made me feel heard and made me laugh. We had recently connected again in the last few years and it was the same old Patrick!

I really cannot believe you are gone and I will always smile when I think of you. I will miss you dearly, brother!
