Master Sergeant U.S. Air Force (Ret.) Paul Arries, age 67, of Lakeside, Arizona, passed away suddenly on June 22, 2025. Born in Miami, Florida, on January 30, 1958, Paul was the beloved son of Lorraine and Verdun Arries.
He proudly dedicated 20 years and 5 months of honorable service to his country as an Aviation Jet Mechanic in the United States Air Force. A true professional, Paul, brought diligence, precision, and pride to everything he did. While in the military, he continued his pursuit of excellence by earning a bachelor's degree in professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and obtaining his Airframe and Powerplant License.
In 2007, Paul settled in Lakeside, Arizona, with his soulmate, beloved and dedicated wife, Bobbie Arries, where they enjoyed the peace and beauty of the mountains. Their love was unbreakable and strong, something that defined both their lives together. He was grateful to live a simple and meaningful life in such a special place, surrounded by nature and the people he loved.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Arries.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Bobbie Arries; his sons, Sean Arries and his wife Gerttu Merirand-Arries and Christopher Arries and his wife Corrine Arries; and his daughter, Paula Arries and her husband Brett Landes. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Richard Arries, Douglas Arries and his lifelong companion Anna Baker; his sisters, Audreen Arries (Hjerpe) and Maredith Ehrman and her husband Troy Ehrman.
Paul was the proud grandfather of six beautiful grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored. He is also
remembered with love by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and his beloved
dog and constant companion, Grace, his loyal boxer who went everywhere with him. She also grieves the great loss of her best friend.
Beyond his military service, Paul was deeply committed to helping others through recovery. He often
said, "I know what my primary purpose is today. It is to stay sober and help the alcoholic who still suffers. He lived those words fully, becoming a source of strength, guidance, and hope to many. His quiet humility, powerful presence, and deep compassion earned him the admiration of all who knew him.
Paul Arries was truly a man among men-steadfast, loving, and honorable. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched. He will be missed beyond measure.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Owens Livingston Mortuary located at 320 N 9th St Show Low, AZ 85901. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., and at 11:40 am there will be a Circle of Honor, followed by Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. A procession will follow to Lakeside Cemetery, where Paul will be commemorated with full military honors and laid to rest.
