Paul Kevin Bennington, 71, of Piketon, Ohio, formerly of Union Furnace, Ohio passed 8:26 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Chillicothe Post Acute, Chillicothe, Ohio, after an extended illness
Paul was born January 10, 1954, in Floyd County, Kentucky, the son of the late Herschel Bennington and Dorothy (Powell) Bennington. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Marie (Champ) Bennington who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Astacia K. Bennington; son, Corey B. Bennington; three granddaughters, Reagan Cole Bennington, Addison Rose Bennington, and Kaitlyn Marie Annette Bennington; and a friend and a man of God that he loved, respected and admired, Larry Byrd of Lancaster, Ohio
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Benjamin Stanley Bennington.
Paul retired from Chillicothe Correctional Institution. From 1977 to 1988, he worked as a deputy sheriff in Hocking County and was an officer for the Logan Police Department. He was a 1972 graduate of Star Washington High School, Union Furnace, Ohio. He was also a member of Scioto Lodge 6 F&AM, the Aladdin Shrine Temple, and The Pike County Shrine Club.
A Masonic Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Pike County Shrine Club, 121 Progress Drive, Waverly. A Celebration of Life will follow.
