Paul Howard Winstead, age 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 23, 2025. Born on December 21, 1946, to the late Willie Warren Winstead and Mildred Winstead, Paul grew up in Coxburg alongside his older siblings Brenda, Barbara Sue, and Peggy, and was later joined by younger siblings Janet and Allen.

Paul dedicated his life to the gravel business, a journey that began in 1969 when he purchased his first gravel truck. He started by hauling for his father's company, later becoming a partner, and ultimately taking full ownership in 1990. With unwavering commitment, Paul built Winstead Gravel Company, running the business independently and leaving a lasting impact through his hard work and determination.

An avid outdoorsman, Paul had a deep passion for deer and turkey hunting. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, creating countless memories that will be treasured by those he loved. Known for his infectious humor, Paul was always joking with people and had a smile that could light up any room, bringing warmth and laughter to everyone around him.

Paul was a longtime member of and served as a deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and had a servant's heart.

Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorinda Winstead; his parents, Mildred and Willie Warren Winstead; his sisters, Brenda Hathcock and Barbara Sue Spell; his daughter-in-law, Kim Bruce Winstead; and his cherished granddaughter, Katelyn Winstead.

A pillar of strength and love, Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Gwen White Winstead, whom he married on February 16, 1992. He leaves behind his children: Paul Warren Winstead, Ricky Winstead (Kathy), Paula Edmundson (Walt), Anne Daly (Shay), and Jamie Russell. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Ricky Winstead Jr. (Joshlyn), Kassidy Beall (Parker), Hannah Richards (Peyton), Jenna Daly, Bree Lang, and Shelby Lang. Paul also took great joy in his great-grandchildren: Walker, Wade, Ella, Eli, Kylie, and Kozi.

Paul's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of hard work, family devotion, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to share in his life.

Pallbearers will include Ricky Winstead Jr., Parker Beall, Shay Daly, Walt Edmundson, Steve Sizemore, and Marc Swinney. Larry White will serve as an honorary pallbearer, a testament to their lifelong friendship.
