Paula Denise Heflin, 63, of Town Creek, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 09, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 at the funeral home with Larry Crumpton and Randy Copeland officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on September 14, 1961 to the late TL and Bernice Carpenter Colburn, Paula was the best wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the most talented and hard working little lady there ever was. Paula had a servant's heart and would do anything and everything she could for anyone she came in contact with. Paula loved her family more than anything. She was first diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and has been fighting ever since. She received two rounds of full body radiation, spot radiation, more than 3000 chemo pills, and over 500 IV chemo treatments. On April 11, 2025, she had a bone marrow transplant. Despite all of these treatments, she received her ultimate healing on Monday morning, July 7, and is now celebrating in her heavenly home.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Roland Heflin; children, Jami Crumpton, Megan (Austin) Terry, and Logan (Taylor) Heflin; grandchildren, Gage Terry, Hudson Fawcett, Collin Terry, Henry Fawcett, Hattie Fawcett, Hazel Fawcett, Aubrie Terry, Kennedy Heflin, and Haynes Heflin; brothers, Duel (Diane) Colburn, Dewayne "Bobo" (Judy) Colburn; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Theresa McFarland.
Pallbearers will be Austin Terry, Gage Terry, Keith Pierce, Randy Heflin, Ryan Inman, and Jerome Porter. Honorary pallbearer is Mark Heflin.
The family extends special thanks to Aveanna Hospice (Elizabeth and Savannah) and all of the friends and family who helped care for Paula during her illness.
