Paula Scott Moore, 82, peacefully slipped into the arms of her Lord Jesus on July 10, 2025, surrounded at home by her adoring family. Born October 18, 1942, in Shelbyville, Kentucky, Paula's radiant spirit and boundless love touched every soul she met, and Paula's heart was as vast as her beloved Bluegrass State.
For 63 cherished years, Paula was the heartbeat of her husband, Dr. William "Ray" Moore, joined in love since August 4, 1962. Together, they raised their beloved twins, Amy Allison Moore and Kyle Rayburn Moore, born May 22, 1985, with a devotion that knew no bounds. Paula's early years as a schoolteacher filled young hearts with knowledge, but her truest calling was tirelessly supporting Ray, pouring her soul into his veterinary practice, eventually relocating from Cincinnati Ohio to Dade City Florida in the early 1980s.
She is survived by her soulmate Ray; son Kyle, his wife Ashley, and precious grandchildren Brooks Asher (4), Isabel Rae (2), and Adalyn Brooke (1); daughter Amy and her fiancé Jason Chiero; sister Barbara Blann, her husband Rob and their daughter Jennifer, and a sprawling extended family across Kentucky and the Midwest. Paula is preceded in death by her mother Madlyn Brooks, dad Allen Brooks, biological father Arthur Paul Scott, nephew Tristan Blann, and many more family and friends, too numerous to list.
Paula's heart danced at the beach, sang with fellow fans at Kentucky's iconic Derby, and cheered for Kentucky basketball during March Madness. She loved preparing a home cooked meal for others, and she cherished her role as a second mother to countless friends of Amy and Kyle.
Though her impaired mobility stole moments with loved ones during her final years, her love burned fiercely for her family and friends. Anchored by her Christian faith, we hold tight to the promise of eventually reuniting with her in Heaven.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Dade City Christian Church on August 9th, 2025 at 9:30am. Paula's light will forever shine in our hearts and she will be dearly missed. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Paula, please visit our floral store.
