AHOSKIE, NC - Pauline Emory Hall, lovingly known to many as "Polly," passed away peacefully at sunrise on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on September 28, 1930, in Stovall, Granville County, North Carolina, to Claude and Rebecca Emory. Her life's journey concluded in Ahoskie, Hertford County, North Carolina.
Polly moved to Rich Square when she was a small child. She never left until 1951 when she married the love of her life, Major Ed Bryant Hall, and together they embraced the life of a military family, traveling across the United States and Europe, including memorable stays in England and France. Throughout this time, she demonstrated unwavering strength and resilience, serving as both mother and father to their children during Major Hall's deployments. She also found joy on the tennis court, as a young woman.
Polly dedicated her professional life to the field of banking, where her steadfast work ethic became a hallmark of her career. Despite the demands of her profession, she remained passionately involved in crafting, sewing-delights she generously shared with those around her. Her true passion was in doll-making, she took great pride in making porcelain dolls. An avid reader, she would delight in the peace and quiet of a late-night book.
Her faith was an integral part of her life. As a long-time member of Rich Square Baptist Church, and Rich Square Garden Club she contributed actively to the community she cherished. Polly's nurturing presence was felt not only by her immediate family but also by her church congregation and friends. Her vibrant spirit, loving heart, and graceful presence will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
One of the most cherished time of Polly's life was becoming a grandmother, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely, spending time with them and creating a lasting bond to continue for them.
Preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Frazier Emory, her father, Claude Leroy Emory, her husband, Major Ed Bryant Hall; and her siblings, Laura Dickerson, Sarah Askew, Claude Emory, Helen Jessup, Eugene Wright Emory, and her twin, William Paul Emory, Polly is now reunited with them in eternal rest.
Left to carry on her legacy are her beloved children: daughter, Claudia Hall Morris and husband Thomas "Gary" of Ahoskie, and son, Stuart E. Hall and wife Karen of King, NC. G'Ma POLLY is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Lauren Morris, Greyson Morris and wife Teresa, Michelle Rollins and husband Daniel, Mindy Schlosser and husband Brian, and Miranda Moretz and husband Brad; and her precious great-grandchildren: Madalynn, Ryleigh, and Sarah Morris, Kyrstin, Madyson, and Emory Rollins, and Landon Schlosser. Polly's affectionate fur baby, Molly, continues to bring joy to the family. Her memory endures among numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who were blessed by knowing her.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you for the love a special care shown to Polly by Estella Riddick for the past two years and additional caregivers, Ruby Eason, Diane Carey, and Kimberly Ambrose for the past month.
