Lieffers, Peggy Joyce (Sholler)

Flushing, Michigan

God welcomed Peggy Joyce (Sholler) Lieffers (84) into eternal rest on July 24th, 2025. Peggy was born in Flint, MI to Delbert and Burnice Sholler in 1940. Growing up in Flushing, Mi she had a special friendship and closeness with her sisters, Pat and Judy. At 19 she married the love of her life, Rick and they celebrated 61+ years of deep and unconditional love together before Rick was called by the Lord on January 28, 2021. Peggy and Rick raised 3 sons, Kevin, Jim and Michael. Always as a family, they both loved and supported all the son's sporting activities and provided for many outdoor adventures such as boating, water skiing, and motorcycling in the summers as well as snowmobiling in the winters.

Peggy's devotion to her children was unsurpassed, especially when it came to Michael, her special needs son, who was born with Down Syndrome. In the early years she dedicated herself, as a stay-at-home mom, to raising sons to be of high character and gentlemen. Love was always present even in the moments when "coaching" right from wrong would occur. In the latter years, it was about supporting her family in everyone's unique life adventures. In her later stages, Peggy fought and beat lung cancer before finally succumbing to COPD. However, in that most trying and difficult journey, we have been so very blessed to witness Peggy's will to live, out of pure devotion to her family, and a promise to God, that she would provide endless love and care to Michael until her final breath.

We are comforted in knowing she struggles no more and that she is reunited with Rick, which she has longed for since his passing.

Peggy is survived by son Kevin and wife Kate (Butler), son Jim, and son Michael, grandson Cameron and his fiancée Gillian Molzon, granddaughters Abbey, Halle, brother-in-law Paul, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in passing by her loving husband Rick, parents Delbert and Burnice, her sisters Pat and Judy, and her grandchildren Zach and Ellie.

The Celebration of Life will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025 at the Rossell Funeral Home, 307 E. Main St. Flushing, MI 48433. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Peggy's family will be leading the Celebration of Life service. At the request of Peggy and her family, cremation will take place following services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the "Special Olympics". Arrangements have been entrusted to the Rossell Funeral Home, www.rossellfh.com
