Peggy was all about being of service to others, being a faithful Christian, being extremely family oriented and being a very thoughtful friend. She was often found cooking/baking food to deliver to others, driving people to doctor appointments, and helping out in any way possible. Additionally, Peggy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and participated for years in Wing 13, a Guernsey Memorial Hospital auxiliary service group. Some of her favorite hobbies included her love for playing golf and her proclivity as a great card player, especially enjoying Bridge.

Along with her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years Dr. A.D. Steele Jr.; a son, Scott Douglas Steele; a daughter-in-law, Mary Steele and a sister Helen Heiney.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen D. Steele, Ph.D. of Anderson, South Carolina and Patricia D. (Dr. Anthony "Skip") Mollica of Augusta, Georgia; a son Curtis D. Steele of Columbus, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Chris Steele of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren: Meghan (Sam) Rivard, Rachel (Charles) Laughlin, Phillip (Caroline) Mollica, Patrick (Lindsay) Mollica, Eric Steele, Michael Steele and Lauren (Sam) Doron; nine great grandchildren: Anna, Micah, Beau, Hampton, Culley, Scottie, Connor, Finn and Ellis; and her siblings, Patty Rose, Marilyn Milhoan, Janie Wimer, Billy (Judy) Young, Bonny (Lonnie) Fraley.

Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church 641 Steubenville Avenue Cambridge, Ohio 43725 on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 10am to 11am with her service to begin at 11am. Rev. Tina Siroki and Rob Lilienthal will officiate with burial to follow in Northwood Cemetery.

Karen, Curt and Patty,
I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Thinking back, I still remember the gift she gave me at the neighborhood wedding shower she planned, and always appreciated her support of the Lion's Show.
She was a special lady and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Prayers and hugs for you and your family.
Fondly,

Kim Conrath
