Pennie Denise Buckley, age 40, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, June 14, 2025. A graveside service to honor her life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Linder officiating.
Born on May 13, 1985, in Gainesville, Florida, Pennie brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Ray Smith.
Pennie is survived by her loving parents, Ronnie and Sandra Buckley; her brother, Ronnie Milton Smith Jr.; her sister, Ronna Lee Buckley; her beloved aunts, Diana (Charles) Bass and Patricia Bell; and her uncles, Allen (Francis) Harris, Ricky Killingsworth, and Alex Harris Jr.
Pennie was a beautiful soul-kind, funny, friendly, thoughtful, and loving. She had a gentle spirit, a joyful heart, and a determination that never wavered. Humble and kindhearted, she was always thinking of others and doing what she could to make the people around her smile.
She was especially proud to be a daddy's girl, and one of her greatest joys was singing with her father. Her bond with her aunt Diana Bass, whom she lovingly referred to as her "second momma," was incredibly special and a constant source of comfort and support.
Pennie had a way of lighting up a room with her laughter and sincerity. She cherished her family deeply, and her love for them was evident in every interaction. Her presence will be greatly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
