Penny Kay (Cole) Faulkner born May 23 rd 1965 in Leachville AR, Past July 14 th 2025 at
her home in Newbern. Penny's Dad, Donald Eugen Cole retired from the US Airforce
and became a US Postal worker, Penny's dad was her Hero, and Lora Ellen (Cloud)
Cole was a homemaker, Penny also had a older Brother Robert Edward Rolland and a
younger brother Robert Eugene Cole both are deceased. Penny has a Sister Donna
Gene (Rolland) Wood that lives in Monette AR. Where she has a Beauty Salon for 48
years, Penny leaves behind her husband of 42 years Kristopher Vernon Faulkner.
Penny has 2 children Whitney NaCole (Faulkner) Funderburk (Brandon) and Kristopher Kane
Faulkner of Decatur AL, Penny has 5 Grandchildren Logan Chase Funderburk, Eli Jake
Funderburk, and Katherine Reese Funderburk, Layla Belle Faulkner and Kristopher
Lucas Faulkner. Penny made the statement many times when the grans come over no
matter how bad I feel they make me feel you again, Penny went to Cotton Bowl Vo-tech
in Marked Tree AR to be a accountant, Funny story we would ride the bus to Marked
Tree and Penny would get on the bus in Monette AR and then the bus would pick me up
in front of my parents house, well one day on the trip home the bus stopped in front of
my parents house I got up to exit the bus and I yelled to Penny I WILL CALL YOU, she
heard I LOVE YOU and the rest is history. Penny worked for a lawyer in Jonesboro for
awhile, then Penny and I got married in 1984 moved to Blytheville AR where she
worked in the admissions and credit & collections for the Hospital and also worked
some at the Osceola Hospital, then in 1988 we loaded up the truck and moved to
Tennessee and made our new home in Newbern, Penny went back to school for
cosmetology, after graduating there she went to work at Regis Hair Stylist in the Mall
and also JC Penny's Hair Salon, Penny opened up her own Beauty shop in Trimble Tn
where she could be close for our 2 children at school. Penny decided cutting hair was
getting old then she went to Goodyear Tire & Rubber worked there till she got laid off
went back to school at Newbern Vo-Tech school for Nursing, graduated and worked at
several hospitals and ended up at Highlands Nursing home in Dyersburg and the kidney
stones took over and she had to retire. Also while doing all of this schooling Penny
coached Whitney's Softball Team and Kane's T-Ball and baseball teams, Penny loved
Softball with a passion, and also worked one night shift at a gas station. Penny will be
greatly missed, We Appreciate all the prayers and support of the past few months. Oh
before I forget I want to Thank John Mark (Chappie) Wilson, he is a remarkable man,
We met him at the Dyersburg Hospital he came walking thru the ICU 10 gallon cowboy
hat and shorts, let me tell you that caught Penny's eye she said I want to meet him and
he took both of our hearts, he drove all the way back to his home in Kentucky and put
all his Bull fighting gear on and came back to see Penny and gave her a scarf with his
favor scripture on it, she has told everyone she has met since then about her Bull
Fighter, July 14th God sent him to our house I met him in our carport and told him I
didn't think Penny was breathing, I asked him how did you know to come to our house
and he said GOD sent me. Chappie has made a place in our family, Penny's favorite
songs are Ella Langley You look like you love me, Laniey Wilson Heart Like a Truck,
Graveside services for Penny will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 22,2025, at Fairview Cemetery in Tennessee.
Officiating this service will be Chaplain John Mark "Chappie" Wilson.
Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
